Application Process

Accepting Applications in 2016

All applications go through an initial screening, checking that the application is complete and that the applicant meets all our criteria (see our list of criteria below). Depending on available funds, the application is then either sent on to the volunteer Clinical Committee or the applicant is put on a wait list until funds are available. The Clinical Committee reviews the application and will contact the primary counselor with questions. An in-person interview may also be scheduled with the applicant. If a scholarship is awarded, the Clinical Committee will make a recommendation for treatment based on availability of sober living openings.

Applicant must:
– Have no medical insurance or be under-insured, meaning that their medical insurance will not pay for sober living.
- Show that their support groups are unable or unwilling to provide financial support (extended family, friends, religious institution, medical insurance, etc.)
- Have a strong desire and show willingness to stay sober for life.
- Complete at least 30 days at a residential treatment center and successfully discharge from the program.
- Have a recommendation for sober living from their primary counselor at the current residential treatment center.

If the applicant is in inpatient treatment, please submit application at least two weeks before the expected date of discharge.
